Introducing
Tailor Made Software's CAD Server

Cad Bridge/Server (also known as "Cad Server") is the premier batch file conversion software offered by Tailor Made Software. It will convert AutoCAD DXF and DWG (Release 2.5 through AutoCAD 2000), HPGL and HPGL2 files to a wide variety of output file formats. Cad Server will convert some or all files found within a given directory "tree" (searching the directory listed by the user and, optionally, all of its subdirectories). Every found file will be converted to the selected output format(s).

The number of files converted is only limited by the hard drive space on the host computer, so if your computer has the free disk space, CAD Server will process all found files.

Date/Time Checking

When batch processing, the application is required to go over the same directory repeatedly. Obviously you do not want to reconvert all of the drawings. Instead you only want to convert new or changed drawings.

To facilitate this, Cad Server can be configured to convert only those files in which the current output file is older than the input file or in which there is no current output file.

Automatic Operation

Cad Server operates in three modes: Interactive, Once and Exit and Continuous --

"Interactive" operation

The conversion process will only occur when requested by the user.

"Once and Exit"

The program will wait 30 seconds (so the user can change any settings) and will then perform the conversion using the same settings as the previous time (this allows the program to be run automatically via a scheduling program, say at 3am every day).

"Continuous" operation

The program will perform the conversion, waiting a specified number of minutes or hours, and then check the same directory tree again. This allows the program to continually check to see if new files have been added or if existing files have been changed. If so, the conversion process is then run on this new or changed files.
